Unrequited

Kari sat at the park bench reading her book Gone with the Wind, but her mind was elsewhere. She thought of her childhood best friend, T.K. Takaishi. Speaking of him, he was just over there, leaning against a tree while reading Gone with the Wind as well. Kari was about to call him over when she was cut off by another girl calling for him. Closing his book, TK looked up and saw a girl Kari had never seen before. She had cinnamon locks with a bit of golden blond mixed in perfectly perfect loose curls. Her periwinkle eyes sparkled with happiness and...was that love in her eyes as she looked at T.K.? Kari looked to the blond and saw his eyes sparkling with the same emotions. The two met in the middle with a passionate kiss. "I missed you so much, Lou Ellen," exclaimed T.K. "Lou Ellen" giggled as they began to talk and walk away. Kari's eyes watered as she ran all the way home. Mot even bothering to acknowledge his brother making out with Sora with another witty remark like she always did, she slammed the door, immediately bursting into loud body-wracking sobs. Someone knocked on the door. "Kari?" said the redhead. "Is everything OK?" She was greeted with sobs. "What's wrong?" asked Tai, being the protective older brother he was. Wiping her eyes and opening the door, Kari began to explain everything.

Tai knocked on the door of the Takaishi residence angrily. Sora clicked her tongue at her boyfriend's immature behavior. The door was opened by a dark-haired beauty. She had ever changing fuchsia and silver eyes, milky white skin, dark hair like midnight, and bubblegum pink lips. She pursed her lips. "Alright, what's up?" The two explained everything to Aria, for that was her name. Much to their surprise (not), a small frown played at her lips. "I told Lady Aph she was playing a dangerous game." muttered Aria. "Sorry, Tai, but you can't go in there and beat up TK. Lou Ellen's been his girlfriend since he was 13 and a half. Besides, he could snap you like a twig." "But--but Kari!" Tai cried out. Aria waved her finger in their faces. "I may love Kari, but TK and Lou Ellen are practically my siblings first. Meaning, I protect them in a completely sisterly way while giving them some space," said Aria. She poked a finger at Tai's chest. "You, however, have to let Kari solve her own problems or she'll become dependent. Anyways, Takellen is my OTP. TTYL!" Aria slammed the door in their faces. Tai looked at Sora for an explanation. "Takellen is TK and Lou Ellen's name combined. OTP means 'One True Pairing'. TTYL means talk to you later."giggled Sora. "But she's right, Kari needs to become independent. She can't always rely on you."

 Kari was reading through her diary. About three quarters of her thoughts were about her crush on T.K. and the remaining was about fun stuff she did with T.K. KAri thought for a moment before writing her latest entry.

 I've loved T.K. for almost me entire life. This is how I found out my love will forever be unrequited. It started out as a normal day just sitting at a park bench and reading a book...
